Some Things Never Get Old

Sometimes I wish that certain things of life could just disappear... laundry, dishes, make-up... the list goes on and on.   But certain things of life never grow old.  One of those is leading a soul to Jesus Christ.  This morning Mrs. Sharron, Miranda, and I went to visit an elderly lady (84 to be exact).  Mrs. Sharron had witnessed to her multitudes of times, but today she felt as if the Lord wanted her to present the gospel to her again.  Many people prayed for her salvation before we went to see her, and their prayers were not ignored.  Often this lady would try to get the conversation sidetrack when it turned to spiritual things, but not today!  She was just right there, with all her attention on Mrs. Sharron.  She called on the Lord to save her, and when Mrs. Sharron showed her a verse on assurance of one's salvation, she looked at Mrs. Sharron and said, "Does this mean I'm born again?". YES!!!!! I almost start crying every time I see someone trust in Jesus Christ.  This lady trusted Him because of the prayer warriors that petitioned the throne for her soul.  Who have you prayed for today?  Who have you witnessed to today?  Next time you're tired of dusting the shelves, think of doing something that never gets old. :)

Missionary Maneuvers

Wow- was teen night fun tonight! We played a new game that Uncle Todd dubbed "Missionary Maneuvers".  Several years ago the teens used to play a game called fugitive for teen night. They would divide up into teams of two, and then one team would go hide while all the other teens searched for them.  The team that stayed hidden the longest was the winner.  A few weeks ago some other teens and I were reminiscing about how much fun we had playing that.  It gave me an idea... the fugitive reminded me of a lost soul, needing the light of the gospel.  The searchers were like missionaries, taking the light.  That was the spark that lit into a fire! Ideas began to flood my mind, and then Dad helped me refine and improve those ideas.  Here's the game: a veteran missionary had to leave his mission field for certain reasons.  The jest of the game was to find a replacement team.  We divided up into teams with the names of certain missionaries, and the name of our mission board was Teens of Grace (TOG).  : P  Each team had to (1) Preach to the masses: run from the shed (we were out at the land) to the horse barn, and preach to the horses!  Only the catch was that I placed a Spanish Bible up there! Hey missionaries often have to learn new languages.  (2) Minister in a church- bETHEL Baptist Church(Uncle Todd's dog's name is Ethel... they had to sing to her!) a duet of "Amazing Grace" was sufficient.  : )  (3) The team had to run back to the trailer and find their plane ticket to their country.  I found a website online where you could enter info for a mock ticket- they looked so real. It was awesome.  (4) The team had to go search in a designated area for the "lost souls".  One other team was hiding down in some ravines, and they had to be recovered and witnessed to.  The time would be stopped and recorded, then off went the next team.  Here's some photos of our adventure!

God Answers Prayer

Last year's students; now I have nine!
Last week I asked the Lord to bring a new music student to me.  I am trying to save as much money as possible for college, and teaching music lessons is my main means of accomplishing that task.  Tonight I signed up TWO new students that want to take piano lessons from me!  Wow! God answers prayer~even above what I asked Him for!

No, We Didn't Freeze in WI~ We're Safely Home

Every February brings our annual trek to the Holiness Conference in WI.  Forgive me for not pulling my camera out during the week, but rest assured that we had a wonderful trip.  The Lord definitely chiseled my heart and showed me things in my life that needed to change.  The theme of the Conference was "The Enthroned Christ".  As believers, we have a position in Christ far above Satan's fiery darts.  That position gives us power to not only resist the Devil, but also to be filled with the Spirit hence living the life that God wants us to live.  The week was wrapped up with a session about fulfilling the great commission: spreading the gospel.  The Lord opened my eyes to the needs of the lost.  Yes I have known that the Lord wanted me to spend my life in ministry, but I was praying about what avenues to take in regards to that.  Pastor Gillmore shared some statistics with us that were staggering: there are still so many languages that have no form of the gospel.  If Christians were to translate the scriptures into every language, the task could be completed by 2025. IF we translated 155 languages PER YEAR.  The need is great, and it sounds like something worth living for. I hope that the Lord will use me to take part in this project.  For now though, my family and I are excited to dive back into our ministries here in Ulysses. We were so thrilled by the welcoming warmer weather: it was a wonderful contrast compared to where we've just been!
